감동(Being moved or touched)

감동은 무엇인가에 의해 마음이 움직이는 것입니다. 마음이 감동을 받으면 가슴이 뿌듯해지고 뜨거운 눈물이 흘러내립니다. 그러면 마음은 일종의 카타르시스를 느끼며 행복감에 젖습니다. 모든 사람들은 이러한 감동을 간절히 원합니다. 생일날 빨간 장미꽃 한 다발을 선물 받고 눈물을 흘리며 행복해 하는 고생하던 아내를 상상해 보세요. 고생하는 것을 아무도 모르는 줄 알았는데 아들이 전해준 감사의 편지를 읽으며 소리 없는 눈물을 흘리는 아빠를 상상해 보세요. 친구를 살리기 위해 자기를 희생하는 명작 영화를 보며 눈물을 흘리는 관객들을 상상해 보세요. 물론 1월 1일 새해 아침에 떠오르는 태양의 장관을 볼 때도 우리의 마음은 감동으로 벅차 오름을 느낍니다. 훌륭한 오케스트라의 연주를 들으며 감동하기도 합니다. 우리는 다양한 방법으로 감동을 받습니다. 그런데 우리의 마음을 변함없이 움직이는 것은 사랑입니다. 오늘날 많은 이들의 마음이 고통, 죄, 분열, 상처로 무디어지고 완악해졌습니다. 어린 시절 가족들과 친구들에게 받은 상처로 인해 원만한 대인 관계를 맺지 못하고 불행하게 살아갑니다. 사람들에게 거절, 무시, 배신을 당한 것이 깊은 상처로 남아 아무도 믿을 수가 없습니다. 행복과는 거리가 먼 삶에 지칠 대로 지치고 일상의 단조로움에 눌려 살아갑니다. 내면의 상처, 지침, 눌림, 고통을 벗어버리고자 발버둥칩니다. 이에 대한 참된 치유는 무엇일까요? 짓눌리고 지친 영혼을 치유하는 것은 마음의 감동입니다. 마음의 감동은 사랑에서 옵니다. 남들의 참된 사랑 이야기를 들을 때도 우리의 마음은 움직입니다. 비록 그러한 사랑을 경험으로 알지 못할지라도 영화 속에 그려진 아름다운 사랑 이야기는 우리의 얼어붙은 마음을 따뜻하게 녹여줍니다. 우리도 영화 속에 주인공들처럼 서로 사랑하고 사랑받는 것을 상상하며 대리 만족을 경험합니다. 우리는 어디에서 완전한 사랑을 경험할 수 있을까요? 영원하고 무조건적이며 완전한 사랑은 죄인을 향하신 하나님의 사랑입니다. 이 사랑은 그 아들 예수 그리스도를 십자가 죽음에 내어 주신 사건에서 드러났습니다. 우리의 죄로 인한 영원한 형벌을 대신 받으신 그리스도의 사랑입니다. 성령께서 이 사랑을 우리 영혼에 부어 주실 때 우리는 세상이 알지 못하는 놀라운 감동에 휩싸입니다. 바로 이 사랑이 우리의 기쁨, 감사, 행복, 변화, 승리의 원천입니다. 이 사랑이 우리로 호흡케 하며 오늘을 살게 합니다. 이 사랑을 모르고도 살아가는 이들이 많습니다. 그러나 이 사랑을 경험으로 아는 크리스천들은 그 사랑을 매일 먹고 살아갑니다. 이 사랑의 감동이 바로 우리의 속사람을 강건케 하는 비결입니다. 

To be moved is to have your heart moved by something. When the heart is moved, it feels being full and hot tears flow down its cheeks. The heart then feels a kind of catharsis and is bathed in euphoria. All people crave this kind of emotion. Imagine a struggling wife who is presented with a bunch of red roses on her birthday, and she bursts into tears of happiness. Imagine a father who thought no one knew he was struggling, and then sheds silent tears as he reads a thank-you note from his son. Imagine the teary-eyed audience at a great movie where a hero sacrifices himself to save his friend. Of course, our hearts also swell with emotion when we see the spectacular sight of the sun rising on New Year's morning. Or when we hear a great orchestra play, we are moved. We are moved in many ways, but the one thing that consistently moves our hearts is love. Today, many people's hearts have become dull and hardened by pain, sin, division, and hurt. They live unhappy lives, unable to have amicable interpersonal relationships because of the hurt they received from family and friends in childhood. Being rejected, ignored, and betrayed by people has left them so deeply wounded that they can't trust anyone. They live a life that is far from being happy, and they are exhausted and overwhelmed by the monotony of everyday life. They struggle to escape from their wounds, weariness, crushing, or pain inside. What is the true healing for this? The touch of the heart heals the crushed and weary soul. Our hearts are touched when we hear stories of true love from others. Even though we may not know such love from experience, the beautiful love stories depicted in movies warm our frozen hearts. We experience vicarious satisfaction as we imagine loving and being loved, just like the characters in the movie. But where do we experience perfect love? Eternal, unconditional, and perfect love is God's love for sinners, which was revealed in the giving of His Son, Jesus Christ, to death on the cross. From His love, Christ took upon Himself the eternal punishment due to our sins. When the Holy Spirit pours this love into our souls, we are overwhelmed with a sense of wonder the world has never known. This love is the source of our joy, gratitude, happiness, transformation, and victory. It is what makes us breathe and what keeps us alive today. Many people go through life without knowing this love, but Christians who know it by experience feed on it daily. It is this love that strengthens us from the inside out.
