영적 부요와 누림(Spiritual Wealth and Its Enjoyment)

많은 것을 소유하고도 전혀 누리지 못하는 거나 않는 것은 분명 안타까운 일입니다. 자신은 자기의 것을 누리지 못하는데 그것을 다른 이들이 누리는 것은 아이러니가 아닐 수 없습니다. 솔로몬도 이러한 현상을 보며 누림이 바로 하나님의 선물인 것을 이렇게 서술합니다: “어떤 사람은 그 심령의 모든 소원에 부족함이 없어 재물과 부요와 존귀를 하나님께 받았으나 능히 누리게 하심을 얻지 못하였으므로 다른 사람이 누리나니 이것도 헛되어 악한 병이로다”(전 6:2). 실로 하나님은 우리가 누리도록 인생이라는 선물을 은혜로 주셨습니다. 그렇기에 하나님이 주신 생명을 누려야 합니다. 우리가 살아 있는 것이 하나님의 은혜입니다. 숨을 자유롭게 쉬고 눈을 떠서 사방을 둘러보며 앞으로 걸을 수 있는 것이 하나님의 선물입니다. 우리는 종종 그런 것들을 당연시 여기지만 곰곰이 생각해 보면 그것들의 소중함을 깨닫게 됩니다. 이러한 깨달음은 하나님께 대한 감사와 찬양으로 이어져야 합니다. 이것이 단조롭고 지루한 일상을 감사함으로 누릴 수 있는 방법입니다. 우리의 현재 생활을 감사함으로 살 때 삶은 벗어 던지고 싶은 짐이 아니라 누려야 할 하나님의 선물입니다. 무엇보다도 그리스도 안에 있는 영적인 부요함을 누려야 합니다. 이것은 하나님이 차별없이 모든 믿는 자에게 주시는 영원한 복들입니다. 한마디로 구원의 복입니다. 성부 하나님은 우리가 거룩하고 흠이 없는 존재로 살도록 영원 전에 그리스도 안에서 우리를 택하여 주셨습니다. 성자 하나님은 그의 피 값으로 우리를 죄와 사망의 저주에서 구출하시고 자유를 주셨습니다. 성령 하나님은 우리가 복음을 들을 때 예수 그리스도를 믿게 하시고 구원의 모든 혜택을 얻게 하셨습니다. 이제 우리는 하나님의 특별한 소유가 되었습니다. 또한 하나님이 예비하신 하늘 나라를 유업으로 받게 될 것입니다. 그날에는 그리스도의 몸과 같은 영광스러운 몸을 입고 부활할 것입니다. 성령은 이러한 복들이 얼마나 소중한 것인지를 알려주십니다. 세상의 어떤 것보다도 이러한 구원의 복의 가치를 아는 자들은 하나님을 찬양할 수 밖에 없습니다. 온 우주를 소유하시고 다스리시는 하나님을 아버지로 예배하는 자는 참으로 복된 자입니다. 어떤 고난과 아픔을 당할지라도 구원의 복을 받은 자들은 영원한 승리를 경험할 것입니다. 가장 소중한 것, 곧 예수님의 생명을 주셨는데도 감사치도 않고 당연시 여기도 누리지도 않는다면 얼마나 하나님의 마음을 무시하고 아프게 하는 것일까요! 부모는 자녀들이 그들이 사준 선물을 누리는 것을 보며 흡족해 합니다. 마찬가지로 하나님도 우리가 그분이 주신 모든 것을 누릴 때 기뻐하십니다. 우리의 누림은 하나님께 기쁨과 영광이 됩니다. 구원의 복을 누림은 하나님의 최고의 선물인 예수 그리스도를 누림과 동일합니다.  

It is certainly unfortunate to possess a lot of things and not enjoy them at all. It's ironic that you don't get to enjoy what's yours, but others do. Solomon sees this phenomenon and writes that enjoyment is a gift from God: a man to whom God gives wealth, possessions, and honor, so that he lacks nothing of all that he desires, yet God does not give him power to enjoy them, but a stranger enjoys them. This is vanity; it is a grievous evil (Eccl. 6:2). Indeed, God has graciously given us the gift of life for us to enjoy, and we should enjoy the life He has given us. It is by God's grace that we are alive. It's God's gift that we can breathe freely, open our eyes, look around us, and walk forward. We often take these things for granted, but when we stop to think about them, we realize how precious they are. This realization should lead to gratitude and praise for God, and that's how we can live our monotonous and boring lives with gratitude. When we live our present life with gratitude, life is not a burden to be shed, but a gift from God to be enjoyed. Above all, we are to enjoy the spiritual riches that are in Christ. These are the eternal blessings that God gives to all believers without distinction. In short, they are the blessings of salvation. God the Father chose us in Christ in eternity past so that we might live a holy and blameless life. God the Son rescued us from the curse of sin and death by the price of His blood and gave us freedom. God the Holy Spirit caused us to believe in Jesus Christ when we heard the gospel and received all the benefits of salvation. We are now God's special possession, and we will receive as our inheritance the heavenly kingdom that God has prepared for us. On that day, we will be resurrected with glorified bodies like the body of Christ. The Holy Spirit shows us how precious these blessings are. Those who know the value of these blessings of salvation above all else in the world cannot but praise God. Blessed indeed are those who worship God as Father, who owns and rules the entire universe. No matter what hardships and suffering they may face, those who are blessed with salvation will experience eternal victory. How disrespectful and hurtful to God's heart to give us the most precious thing, the life of Jesus, and then not thank Him for it, taking it for granted, and not enjoying it! Parents take great satisfaction in seeing their children enjoy the gifts they have bought for them. In the same way, God is pleased when we enjoy all that He has given us. Our enjoyment brings joy and glory to God. Enjoying the blessings of salvation is the same thing as enjoying the greatest gift of God, namely, Jesus Christ.
