감사합니다(Thank you!)

감사는 마음을 행복하게 합니다. 반면에 불평은 삶을 사막처럼 만듭니다. 우리는 이것을 경험으로 알고 있습니다. 그럼에도 좀처럼 불평이란 잡초는 마음 밭에서 완전하게 사라지지 않습니다. 감사의 자리를 빼앗으려 시시 탐탐 엿보고 있습니다. 방심하면 불평과 원망이 마음을 장악하여 지옥을 우리 삶의 중심으로 들여옵니다. 그러므로 의도적으로 감사의 생활을 노력해야 합니다. 원하는 대로 만사가 잘 될 때 감사는 그리 어렵지 않습니다. 물론 이러한 때에도 교만하여 감사를 잊을 수 있지만 대부분의 사람은 마음 깊은 곳에서 감사를 느낄 것입니다. 그것을 하나님께 혹은 이웃에게 표현하는 것은 매우 중요합니다. 사실 표현되지 않고 묻힌 감사도 매우 많습니다. 상대가 알겠지 단정하며 감사의 표현을 하지 않는 것은 배은망덕한 사람으로 상대에게 낙인이 찍힐 수도 있습니다. 그러므로 때에 맞게 감사를 표현하는 것이 지혜입니다. 벌써 추수감사절이 코 앞으로 다가왔습니다. 이러한 절기가 있어서 참 감사합니다. 우리가 잊고 살던 감사를 꺼내어 표현할 수 있는 기회가 있는 것이 감사할 뿐입니다. 범사에 감사하라는 말씀을 기억하며 감사를 실천할 수 있는 감사절을 주신 주님께 먼저 감사를 드립니다. 한달 10일 정도가 지나면 2024년이 됩니다. 우리는 지금까지 2023년을 무사하게 살아왔습니다. 어려움도 있었고 고비도 있었습니다. 패배, 절망, 고통, 슬픔, 역경, 환란도 있었습니다. 하지만 승리, 기쁨, 소망, 평안, 형통의 때도 있었습니다. 삶은 부정과 긍정이 섞여 있습니다. 지나고 나니 이 모든 것이 감사의 제목이 됩니다. 올 한해도 되돌아보니 감사할 뿐입니다. 한 주도 빠지지 않고 주일 마다 모여서 하나님을 예배할 수 있었던 것에 감사드립니다. 예배할 수 있는 자유와 기쁨을 주신 하나님께 감사드립니다. 또한 지금까지 건강하게 생활할 수 있게 해 주신 것도 감사드립니다. 우리 가족 모두 건강하게 생활하고 모든 필요를 채워 주신 것도 감사드립니다. 또한 우리 교회의 모든 분들께도 감사를 드립니다. 주일마다 나와서 함께 예배에 참여해 주신 것도 감사드립니다. 찬양팀으로 수고해 주신 분들, 친교 식사 준비로 수고해 주신 모든 분들, 교회를 위하여 기도해 주신 모든 분들, 주일 예배를 위하여 수고해 주신 모든 분들, 교회를 재정적으로 후원해 주신 분들, 저를 위하여 기도해 주시고 격려해 주시며 응원해 주신 모든 분들께 주님의 이름으로 축복하며 감사의 말씀을 드립니다. 여러분이 없었으면 오늘의 은혜 교회도 없었을 것입니다. 여러분이 함께 해 주신 것으로 인해 감사 드립니다. 추수감사절을 맞이하여 교우 모든 분들께 진심으로 감사의 말씀을 전합니다. 주님 안에서 감사의 기쁨이 가득한 추수감사절 보내시길 기도 드립니다. 

Gratitude makes the heart happy. Complaining, on the other hand, makes life a desert. We know this from experience, and yet, somehow, the weed of complaining never completely disappears from the soil of our heart. It sneaks up on us, trying to usurp the place of gratitude. If we let our guard down, complaining and resentment will take over and bring hell into the center of our lives. That's why we need to be intentional about living a life of gratitude. It's not so hard to be grateful when things are going our way. Of course, even in those times, we can become prideful and forget to be grateful, but most of us will feel gratitude deep down inside. Expressing it to God or to our neighbor is very important. In fact, there is a lot of gratitude that goes unexpressed and buried. Failing to express your gratitude without assuming the other person will know can even brand you as ungrateful, so it's wise to express your gratitude at the right time. Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and we're thankful for the season. I'm thankful that we have the opportunity to bring out and express the gratitude we may have forgotten. As we remember to give thanks in all things, we first give thanks to the Lord for giving us a holiday to practice gratitude. In about 1 month and 10 days, it will be 2024. We've survived 2023 so far; we've had our ups and downs. There have been times of defeat, despair, pain, sorrow, adversity, and tribulation. But there have also been times of victory, joy, hope, peace, and prosperity. Life is a mixture of negatives and positives. When it's all said and done, it all becomes the subject of gratitude. As I look back on this year, I have nothing but gratitude. I'm thankful that we have been able to gather and worship God every Sunday without missing a week. I'm thankful that God has given us the freedom and joy to worship. I am also thankful that I have been able to live a healthy life so far. I am thankful to God for keeping my family healthy and providing for all of our needs. I am thankful to God for everyone in our church. I am grateful to you for coming out and worshiping with us every Sunday. To those who have served on the praise team, to those who have served in the preparation of the fellowship meal, to those who have prayed for the church, to those who have served in the Sunday service, to those who have supported the church financially, to those who have prayed for me and encouraged me, I bless you and give thanks in the name of the Lord. Without you, there would be no Grace Church today, and I am thankful that you have been a part of it. As we celebrate Thanksgiving, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all of you. I pray that you have a Thanksgiving filled with the joy of giving thanks in the Lord.
