2 주 후로(In two weeks)

공예배를 마지막으로 드린 후 벌써 한 달 이상이 지났습니다. 마음에 드는 첫 생각은 그리스도 안에 있는 우리 은혜 교회 형제 자매님들을 보고 싶다는 것입니다. 말씀 묵상으로 매일 찾아 뵙고 있긴 하지만 여전히 여러분을 보고 싶고 교회에서 함께 친교 음식을 나누길 소원하고 있습니다. 서로 떨어져 봐야 서로가 얼마나 소중하고 얼마나 보고 싶은지를 깨닫게 된다는 것은 분명 사실입니다. 우리 은혜 교회는 가족 같은 작은 회중입니다. 주님 안에서 끈끈한 친교를 해오고 있습니다. 지금은 같은 장소에서 예배할 수는 없지만 이와 같은 때에 온라인으로 함께 예배할 수 있다는 것은 엄청난 축복입니다. 하지만 우리는 계속해서 이렇게 되길 원하지는 않습니다. 분명한 것은 가능한 빠른 시일 내에 함께 교회에서 예배하고 싶은 마음이 점점 커지고 있다는 것입니다. 저는 개인적으로 주정부의 비상 사태가 끝나길 고대하고 있었습니다. 여러 주에서 몇몇 사업체들이 문을 열도록 허용했지만 사우스 캐롤라이나 주지사인 맥매스터 씨는 4월 27일부터 비상 사태를 15일 연장하였습니다. 우리는 이 발표를 듣고 공예배를 2주 후로 미루기로 결정하였습니다. 그래서 별문제가 생기지 않는다면 우리는 5월 17일에 다시금 우리의 공예배를 재개할 예정입니다. 현재는 주정부의 방침을 따르는 것이 안정된 길이라 여겨집니다. 생명이 위험에 처할 수 있는 경우에는 예방 조치를 취하는 것이 안전합니다. 아무 일이 없을 것이라 생각할 수도 있지만 공공의 건강을 위해서는 필요한 조치를 취할 필요가 있습니다. 우리가 교회에서 다시 모일 때는 마스크를 착용하고 서로 간에 6피트 거리 두기를 실천할 것입니다. 당분간 친교는 할 수 없을 것입니다. 여러분 중 코로나 바이러스 감염 증상이 있는 분들은 교회에 오시는 것을 삼가해 주시길 부탁드립니다. 당분간 어린 아기들이나 노약자 분들은 교회 공예배 대신 온라인 예배를 권고합니다. 코로나 바이러스는 전염성이 높습니다. 우리는 우리 자신과 이웃이 전염되지 않도록 최선을 다해야 할 것입니다. 5월 17일 다시 모일 때까지는 온라인으로 함께 예배할 것입니다. 5월 17일 후에도 교회 공예배와 온라인 가정 예배를 지속할 것입니다. 아플 경우에는 가정에서 온라인 예배를 드릴 수 있습니다. 건강할 때는 교회에서 예배해야 할 것입니다. 우리는 분명 전래 없고 예측 불가한 사태를 겪고 있습니다. 하지만 하나님의 능하신 은혜로 이 보이지 않는 전쟁을 종국에는 이길 것입니다. 계속해서 서로를 위하여 기도합시다. 전 세계가 이 대유행 병에서 회복되도록 기도합시다. 국가의 지도자들을 위하여 기도합시다. 그리고 온 세상에 있는 그리스도의 교회들이 부흥하도록 계속 기도합시다. 

It has already been more than one and half months since we held our last corporate worship in March. The first thing occurring in my mind is I miss you fellow Christian brothers and sisters in Christ. Though I meet with you every day through Word Meditation, I still long to see you and enjoy fellowship meal together in the church. It is certainly true that we realize how precious we are to each other and how much we miss each other when we are away from each other. Korean Grace Church is a small, family-like congregation. We have been enjoying a close fellowship with each other in Christ. Though we can’t be in the same place for worship now, we can still worship together online, which is a tremendous blessing in a time like this. However, we don’t want to continue this way. Definitely, we have an increasing desire to get together in the church as soon as possible. I personally have been looking forward to the termination of the state of emergency mandate. Though some governors ordered to reopen some businesses, SC Governor McMaster extended the state of emergency for 15 days, which started on April 27. Finding that out, we have decided to postpone our public worship for two more weeks. If everything goes well, therefore, we plan on reopening our corporate worship at the church on May 17. Currently, it is certainly safe to go with the flow. It is safe to take precautions when our lives might be at risk. Though we may assume we will be alright, yet we have to follow necessary steps for public health. Even when we meet again in the church, we are to wear masks and keep social distancing, that is, 6 feet from each other. We won’t hold fellowship meal for a while.  If you feel symptoms of the coronavirus, please refrain yourself from coming to church. I advise that little kids or old people should worship online at home for a while. COVID-19 is highly contagious. We will have to do our best to keep others and ourselves safe from it. Until we meet on May 17, we will worship online together. Even after May 17, we will provide you both church public worship and home online worship. In case you are sick, you can worship online. Of course, if you are well, you should come to church to worship. We are definitely going through something unprecedented and unpredictable. However, we will eventually win this invisible war by God’s enabling grace. Let’s keep praying for each other. Let’s keep praying for recovery of the world from this pandemic. Let’s keep praying for our national leaders. And let’s keep praying for revival of Christ’s churches in the world.
