봄의 위안( Comforting Springtime)

올해도 봄은 우리를 위하여 제때에 왔습니다. 겨울은 힘없이 봄에게 자리를 내주고 말았습니다.   우리는 봄의 따사로움, 아름다움, 향기로움을 누리고 있습니다. 젊은이들이 봄의 도착을 즐거워하며 반팔을 입고 뛰어다님을 보입니다. 주변 나무에서 꽃들이 피어남이 즐겁습니다. 꽃가루는 비록 눈과 코를 불편하게 하지만 거리를 노란색채로 장식하고 있습니다. 나무들은 봄 소식을 알리며 파란 잎새를 피우고 있습니다. 주목할 만한 점은 코로나바이러스도 우리를 위로하기 위하여 오는 봄을 멈출 수 없었다는 것입니다. 코로나바이러스 발발은 온 세상을 바꾸어 놓았습니다. 사람들이 정상적으로 접촉하는 것을 멈추게 하였습니다. 사람들이 여행하는 것을 멈추게 하였습니다. 사람들이 일하는 것도 멈추게 하였습니다. 학생들이 학교에 가는 것도 멈추게 하였습니다. 교회들이 공예배로 모이는 것도 멈추게 하였습니다. 식당이나 가게도 열지 못하게 막고 말았습니다. 온 세상의 일상적인 활동을 멈추게 하였습니다. 사람들의 마음을 얼어붙게 하였습니다. 경제를 무너지게 하였습니다. 우리에게서 일자리, 사업, 만남을 빼앗아 갔습니다. 실제로 온 세상이 평상시처럼 작동하는 것을 멈추게 하였습니다. 하지만 봄이 우리를 위하여 오는 것을 멈추게 하지 못하였습니다. 또한 봄이 우리의 슬픈 마음을 위로하는 것을 막지 못하였습니다. 코로나바이러스 뉴스가 온 세상을 점령하고 우리의 생각도 사로잡았습니다. 어떤 이들은 지쳐 있습니다. 어떤 이들은 스트레스에 잡혔습니다. 어떤 이들은 두려움에 잡혔습니다. 코로나바이러스로 인해 사람들이 꼼짝 못하게 되었습니다. 하지만 하나님의 명령에 의한 봄의 도착은 우리의 지친 영혼에 위로와 소망을 줍니다. 생명이 소생하는 봄은 황량한 겨울 후에 오듯, 회복의 시즌도 이 두려움의 재앙 후에 올 것입니다. 계절의 변화를 지켜보며 코로나 재앙도 지나갈 것을 확신하게 됩니다. 주변에 핀 핑크, 노란, 하얀 색의 꽃들을 보며 소망의 메시지를 받습니다. 하나님은 우리에게 봄을 주시어 코로나바이러스를 다스리시는 그의 지혜와 능력을 보여주십니다. 그리하여 코로나바이러스 대유행 전염병에도 불구하고 우리를 위로하시고 새로운 소망으로 가슴을 채우십니다. 그리스도 안에 있는 위로와 소망의 새로운 대유행 병이 사람들을 치유하고 코로나 대유행 병의 공포와 염려를 없애도록 기도합시다. 하나님께서 코로나바이러스에서 우리를 지켜 주시고 우리의 마음을 코로나바이러스의 공포 바이러스에게 지켜 주시도록 기도합시다. 주님 안에서 조용히 봄을 누려봅시다. 

This year, spring has arrived for us on time. Winter has powerlessly given way to spring. We enjoy warmth, beauty, and scent of spring. We see young people wearing short sleeves and running around to enjoy the arrival of spring. We enjoy watching flowers budding from the trees in our neighborhood. Pollens decorate the streets with yellowish hue though they fill our eyes and noses with discomfort. Trees bring forth their green leaves, heralding the advent of spring. One thing is remarkable: even coronavirus was unable to stop spring from coming to comfort us. The coronavirus outbreak has changed the whole course of the world. It has stopped people from normally contacting each other. It has stopped people from travelling from one region to another region. It has stopped employees from working. It has stopped students from going to school. It has stopped churches from convening for public worship. It has stopped restaurants or stores from opening. It has stopped the normal course of life all over the world. It has frozen the hearts of people. It has melted down economy. It has taken away jobs, businesses, or contacts from us. Indeed, it has stopped the world from functioning as usual. However, it couldn’t stop spring from coming for us. Nor could it stop spring from comforting our distressed hearts. News of the coronavirus pandemic have conquered the whole world. They have occupied our minds. Some are without rest. Most are under stress. Others are scared. People in general are still frozen in their souls because of coronavirus. However, the coming of spring, at the command of God, brings comfort and hope to our weary souls. We find that coronavirus is powerless before God-ordained seasonal change. As a life-budding springtime certainly comes after a dreary Winter, so a season of restoration will come after this scary pandemic. Observing the seasonal changes, we are assured that the coronavirus disasters shall pass. Watching pinkish, yellowish, whiteish flowers around us brings us a message of hope. God has brought us springtime to demonstrate His wisdom and power over coronavirus. In so doing, He comforts us and inspires us with new hope despite bleak forecasts of the coronavirus pandemic. Let’s pray that a new pandemic of comfort and hope in Christ brings healing to people and replaces fear and worry of the coronavirus pandemic. Let’s pray that God would keep us from coronavirus and our hearts from the virus of fear of coronavirus. Let’s quietly enjoy springtime in the Lord.
