말씀을 진정으로 들으려면(For a true hearing of God’s Word)

우리는 교회 생활을 통하여 무엇인가를 배우고 얻으려 합니다. 특히 예배 중에 설교를 통하여 주님의 음성을 듣고 깨달음을 얻으려 합니다. 그러나 우리가 의도한 대로 설교 말씀이 잘 들리지 않을 수 있습니다. 설교를 지루하게 느낄 수 있습니다. 아무리 옳은 내용이라도 너무 많이 들어 식상해 할 수 있습니다. 설교를 통해 주님의 음성을 듣지 못하면 우리의 영혼은 메말라 갈 것입니다. 그러므로 설교를 잘 듣고 배우고 누리는 것은 생기 넘치는 교회 생활에 필수적이라 할 수 있습니다. 어떻게 예배 중 말씀을 들어야 할까요? 먼저 말씀은 귀로 듣는 것이긴 하지만 실은 마음으로 듣는 것입니다. 마음이 준비가 되지 않으면 설교는 들리지 않습니다. 마음이 교만이나 분주함이나 잡음으로 가득하면 귀는 열려 있어도 말씀은 절대로 들리지 않습니다. 그러므로 말씀을 듣기 전에 먼저 마음을 살펴 보아야 합니다. 말씀을 듣는데 방해가 되는 모든 잡음을 제거하기 위해 기도해야 합니다. 기도함으로 분주한 마음과 높아진 마음을 안정되고 겸손한 마음으로 준비시켜야 합니다. 겸손이 결여될 때 설교는 비판의 대상이 될 뿐입니다. 사탄의 방해가 있음을 인식하고 기도로 마음을 지켜야 합니다. 사탄은 우리로 부주의함에 빠지게 합니다. 그래서 말씀에 주의를 집중하지 못하게 합니다. 영적 나태함과 잠에 빠지게 하여 말씀을 듣지 못하게 합니다. 설교를 듣기 전에 영적으로 깨어 있도록 반드시 기도해야 합니다. 또한 설교가 우리에게 유익이 되지 못하는 이유는 말씀을 의심하고 세상 걱정거리가 마음에 가득하기 때문입니다. 이런 것들이 말씀이 마음에 뿌리내리지 못하도록 막습니다. 설교 후에 기도로 의심과 염려를 주님께 맡기고 말씀을 따라 생활해야 합니다. 진정으로 말씀을 듣는다는 것은 말씀 실천을 통하여 열매를 맺는다는 것입니다. 우리는 마음을 준비하여 말씀을 듣고 말씀을 실천함으로 말씀을 유익되게 해야 합니다. 우리 모두가 진정으로 말씀을 진정으로 듣는 한 해가 되길 기도합시다. 

We desire to learn and gain something from our church life. In particular, we would like to hear God’s voice and have convictions through sermons in worship. But we may fail to earn something from sermon. We may feel sermon is boring. No matter how it sounds right, we may be fed up with it because we have heard it so many times. If we do not hear God’s voice, we will feel parched spiritually. Therefore, hearing well, learning from, and enjoying sermons are essential for vibrant church life. How are we to listen to sermon during worship? Above all, we must listen to the preaching of God’s Word not merely with our ears, but primarily with our hearts. The unprepared heart can’t listen to it. If our hearts are filled with pride, busyness, and noises, we can’t hear God’s word though our ears are opened. So, we must examine our hearts before we listen to sermons. We must pray to remove all noises from our hearts in order for us to truly hear God’s word. We must prepare our hearts in prayer, so that we can get them calmed and humbled. If we do not have humility in our hearts, we will be solely critical of sermons. We must be aware of Satan’s interference and keep watch over our hearts. Satan attempts to make us careless. He distracts us from listening to God’s Word. He keeps us in spiritual laziness or stupor so that we will not listen to the word of God. We must pray before we come to the word of God, so that we can be spiritually alert. Doubts and cares hinder us from benefiting from sermons. We must resist them so that they can’t take root in our hearts. After listening to sermon, we must commit our doubts and cares to the Lord and live accordingly. A true hearing of God’s Word implies doing God’s Word and bearing fruit accordingly. Preparation, listening, and practice are necessary for us to benefit from hearing sermons. Let’s all pray for a true hearing of God’s Word throughout 2018!
