10월 교우 소식(October News of our Fellow Believers)

세월의 흐름은 변화를 뜻합니다. 여름이 벌써 물러가고 가을이 호령하고 있습니다. 가을 중순의 상쾌함은 행복감을 더해 줍니다. 즐거운 계절의 변화도 있지만 마음을 슬프게 하는 변화도 있습니다. 여러 해 함께 했던 교우들이 떠나갑니다. 지난 6년을 함께 했던 이신혜 자매님이 이번 24일에 한국으로 귀국합니다. 졸업 후에 스파르탄버그에 있는 직장에서 통역으로 일하였습니다. 이제 회사 프로젝트가 끝납니다. 은혜 교회에서 찬양팀으로, 통역으로 섬겨 왔습니다. 귀국하기 전까지도 설교 통역을 신실하게 봉사합니다. 하나님께서 자매님의 신실함을 기억하실 것입니다. 당장 한국에서 무엇을 할지 결정하지 못한 가운데 있습니다. 주님의 뜻과 인도하심을 구하고 있습니다. 여러분도 기억하시고 기도를 부탁합니다. 김영훈 전도사님 가정도 은혜 교회를 사직하고 새 사역지를 찾고 있습니다. 지난 8년 동안 은혜 교회를 함께 섬긴 신실한 일꾼입니다. 대학/청년부와 중/고등부를 맡아 말씀으로 섬겨 왔습니다. 대학/청년부 예배 때 열정적으로 찬양으로 인도하고 말씀을 전하던 모습이 눈에 선합니다. 아직 사역지가 확정되지는 않았지만 플로리다 데스틴에 있는PCA 소속 교회로 갈 수도 있습니다. 최근에 아틀란타 PCA 노회 모임에서 소개 받은 교회입니다. 만약 이곳에서 영훈 전도사님을 부르면 영어 사역을 담당하게 될 수도 있습니다. 영훈 전도사님도 관심이 있는 교회입니다. 코로나 사태로 어려운 시절입니다. 영훈 전도사님이 사역지 선택에 하나님의 인도하심을 받도록 기도 부탁합니다. 홍옥조 권사님은 연로하셔서 점점 연약해 지시고 있습니다. 청력이 많이 떨어지셨습니다. 이번에 이빨을 모두 뽑으시는 수술을 하시고 회복 중에 계십니다. 수술한 부위가 잘 아물고 치유되도록 기도 부탁드립니다. Mr. Sheldon Landgrave는 여전히 직장을 찾고 있습니다. 주님께서 그에게 적합한 직장을 허락하시도록 기도해 부세요. Mr. George Francis의 아버지께서 폐에 피가 뭉친 것이 있어서 고통을 겪고 있습니다. 하나님께서 치유해 주시도록 기도해 주세요. 죠지 형제님의 형편이 매우 어렵습니다. 경제적으로 안정을 찾고 현재 머물고 있는 집에 계속 거할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 케니 형제님이 은혜 교회를 방문하셨습니다. 현재는 일하는 관계로 매주 교회 출석은 어렵습니다. 하지만 지속적으로 출석하며 교회에 정착할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 이렇게 여러분에게 소식을 전하며 여러분의 얼굴을 떠올려 봅니다. 여러분의 소식이 궁금합니다. 다시 여러분을 대면할 날을 생각해 봅니다. 코로나 사태가 끝나고 그 날이 하루 속히 다가오길 기도할 뿐입니다. 주님의 은혜와 평강이 여러분과 늘 함께 하길 기원합니다. 

Passage of time implies change. Now summer gave way to fall. Fall is in full command. Crisp weather in the middle of fall increases our happiness. We are surely experiencing a good seasonal change. However, there is another kind of change, that is, a sad change. Some of our longtime fellow believers are moving away. On Oct. 14, Sister Shin-Hye Lee, who has been with us for six years, soon returns to Korea. She has been working as a translation in a company since her graduation. The company completes its joint-project sooner or later. She has been serving as a Praise team member or sermon translator in our Grace church. She will be faithfully serving as translator even until she leaves. God will remember her faithfulness. She hasn’t decided what she will be doing in Korea. She is looking for God’s will and guidance. Please, remember your in your prayers. The John Young-Hoon Kim family has resigned from the church. Mr. Kim is looking for a new church to serve. She is a faithful servant, having been serving our Grace church for eight years. He has led College and Career Group, and Youth Group so far. I can vividly recall him praising and preaching passionately for College and Career Group meetings. He has not definitely found his next church. But he may go to a Korean PCA church in Destin, Florida. He was recently introduced to the pastor of that church during a PCA presbytery meeting in Atlanta. If the church wants to call him, John will be in charge of English ministry. He is interested in it. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are going through a tough time. Please, pray that Mr. Kim would follow the guidance of God in finding his next ministry. Mrs. Ok-Cho Hong, due to her old age, is gradually getting weaker. Her hearing is worsening. She is recuperating from the surgery in which she got all her teeth extracted. Please, pray that her gums would be speedily healed up. Mr. Sheldon Landgrave is still looking for job. Please, pray that the Lord grants a job suitable for him. Mr. George Francis is suffering from a blood clot in lung. Please, pray that God would heal him. Brother George is going through a rough time. Please, pray that God would give him financial stability and let him continue staying where he is now. Brother Kenny visited our church. He is not able to come to church every Sunday because of his work schedules. Please, pray that he could continue to come and settle in our church. As I share these news with you, I try to think of all your faces. I would like to know how you people are doing. I imagine of the day we will meet in person again. I only pray that this pandemic comes to an end and that day will quickly arrive. May the Lord’s grace and peace be with all of you!
