교우 소식들(News on our People)

5월에는 우리 교회 가족에게 여러 변화가 있습니다. 2명이 대학교를 졸업했습니다. 나머지 학생들은 방학을 맞이하여 한국으로 돌아갔습니다. 그래서 이들이 빠진 주일 예배 때는 빈자리가 많습니다. 우리 학생들은 찬양팀 사역, 설교 통역, 음향과 방송, 주일 친교로 섬겼습니다. 학생들이 여름 시간을 건강하고 유익하게 보내길 기도해 주세요. 이번 5월에는 여러분들이 이사를 갑니다. 지난 6년간 함께 했던 유동희 박사님은 애리조나, 피닉스로 이사합니다. Honeywell에서 정규직으로 채용되었기 때문입니다. 사실 코로나바이러스 팬데믹이 시작될 때 그곳으로 이주하셨습니다. 그런데 팬테믹으로 인해 해고 되어 그린빌로 돌아오셨습니다. 다행히 그해 7월부터 다시금 복직되어 가택근무를 하셨습니다.  그동안 여러모로 은혜 교회를 신실하게 섬기신 분입니다. 이사하는 과정에서 주님의 선하신 인도하심을 경험하도록 기도해 주세요. 새로운 곳에서 잘 적응하시고 주님의 교회를 신실하게 섬길 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 지난 2년 동안 함께 했던 케니 형제님과 박명희 자매님도 5월 말에 사우스캐롤라이나 렉싱톤으로 이사하십니다. 자매님은 그린빌에 있는 코스트코에서 일하셨습니다. 케니 형제님은 섬터에 가게를 구입하여 운영하고 있습니다. 새로운 곳에서 잘 정착하고 건강하게 주어진 일들을 잘 감당할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 또한 건강한 교회에서 열심히 신앙 생활할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 구은이와 성은이도 5월 말경에 노스캐롤라이나 덜햄으로 이사합니다. 성은이가 듀크 대학 병원에서 일하게 되었습니다. 구은이와 성은이도 은혜 교회를 신실하게 섬겼습니다. 새로운 직장에 잘 적응하고 배운 것들을 잘 활용할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 새로운 곳에서도 여전히 주님의 교회를 신실하게 섬길 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 이제 우리는 긴 여름 시간을 지나가게 됩니다. 남아 있는 교우들은 소수입니다. 한국에 간 학생들과 이사하는 여러분들의 빈자리가 느껴질 것입니다. 하나님이 이분들의 빈자리를 다른 분들로 채워 주시길 기도합니다. 함께 예배하고 섬기며 교제했던 시간들은 소중한 신앙의 추억이 될 것입니다. 보고 싶을 것입니다. 하지만 우리는 이분들과 영원히 이별하는 것이 아닙니다. 이분들의 삶은 새로운 곳에서 지속될 것입니다. 하나님의 선하신 섭리는 이분들과 우리를 인도해 줄 것입니다. 주님 안에서 맺은 신앙의 우정이 이어지길 소망합니다. 연락도 주고 받으며 서로를 위해 기도하면 좋겠습니다. 각자의 삶의 환경에서 동일하신 하나님을 충성스럽게 섬기는 것이 서로를 기억하는 방법이 되었으면 좋겠습니다. 주님의 놀라운 임재가 우리 학생들과 이주하시는 분들과 함께 하시길 기원합니다. 그리고 이곳에 남은 자들 위에는 하나님의 위로가 함께 하길 기원합니다. 

In May, there are some changes among our church families. The two of them had college graduations. The rest of our students began summer vacation and returned to Korea. So, there are more empty seats during Sunday worship. Our students served the church through the various ministries such as Praise Team, sermon translation, sound and broadcasting, and Sunday fellowship. Please, pray that our students would spend their summer break healthily and profitably. During this May, several of us will be moving away. Dr. Dong-hee Ryu, who has been with us for the last six years, will relocate to Phenix, Arizona, because he has secured a full-time position in Honeywell. In fact, he had already moved to Phenix at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. But he was soon laid off due to the pandemic. Later in July, fortunately, he was restored to his job. He has been working at home through online. During these years, he has been faithfully serving our Grace church in many ways. Please, pray that he experiences the Lord’s good hand during the moving process. Also, pray that he settles well in a new place and continues to serve the Lord’s church faithfully. Brother Kenny and Sister Myung-hee Park, who have been with us for the last years, will be moving to Lexington, SC, at the end of May. Sister Park has been working for Costco in Greenville. Brother Kenny bought a store in Sumter and running it now. Please, pray that they will settle well in a new place and fulfills their tasks in good health. Also, pray that they will have a fervent life of faith in a sound church. Two sisters Gu-eun and Sung-eun will be moving to Durham, NC, at the end of May. Sung-eun will be working at Duke University Hospital. They have been faithfully serving our Grace church, too. Please, pray that they will adapt themselves to their new jobs and well practice what they have learned. Also, pray that they would continue serving the Lord’s church faithfully in a new place. We will be going through a long period of summer. The remnants are small in number. We will feel the vacancies of their seats who have gone to Korea and will be relocating. We pray that God will fill their vacancies with others. The moments that we have worshiped, served, and fellowshipped together with them will be precious memories of faith. We will miss them. But we are not parting from them for eternity. Their lives will continue in their new places. God’s good providence will guide them and us as well. I wish that our spiritual friendship with them in the Lord will continue. It will be good for us to keep in touch with them and pray for one another. I want us to remember them as each of them and us loyally serves the same God in each one’s life-setting. May the Lord’s wonderful presence remain with our students and the moving ones! And may the Lord’s comfort be with the remaining ones here!
