듣기 성경(Audio Bible)

성경은 하나님 사랑의 편지, 영혼의 양식, 성령의 검, 길을 비추는 빛입니다. 성경이 없이는 믿음의 삶을 제대로 살 수 없습니다. 그러므로 성경은 믿는 자에게 필수입니다. 하지만 많은 신자들이 성경에 무지합니다. 집 안 어딘가에서 먼지가 수북이 쌓여 있는 성경이 많습니다. 요즘은 핸드폰에 성경 앱을 깔아 놓아서 성경책을 들고 다니지 않습니다. 손때 묻은 성경책은 찾아 보기 힘듭니다. 우리는 성경이 외면을 당하는 시대에 살고 있습니다. 하지만 성경은 여전히 우리가 읽고 듣고 묵상하고 실천해야 할 하나님의 말씀입니다. 우리는 지난 2년 동안 성경 묵상을 했습니다. 그리고 출애굽기 묵상 후에는 듣기 성경을 시작하였습니다. 사실 고대 시대에는 한 사람이 대표로 성경을 크게 읽고 회중은 그 말씀을 들었습니다. 성경을 낭독하는 자와 듣는 자 모두 하나님의 말씀을 듣는 것이었습니다. 성경을 읽든 듣든 중요한 것은 하나님의 말씀을 마음으로 듣는 것입니다. 마음이 딴 곳에 가 있으면 아무 소리도 들리지 않습니다. 마음이 딴 곳에 가 있으면 눈만 움직이지 읽은 내용이 마음에 새겨지지 않습니다. 우리는 하나님을 대하듯 그분의 말씀을 대할 필요가 있습니다. 듣기 성경에서 성공하려면 하나님께 하듯 성경 듣기에 임해야 합니다. 저는 지금까지 매일 빠지지 않고 듣기 성경을 하고 있습니다. 듣기 성경의 유익을 맛보고 있습니다. 듣기 성경에서 어떤 목사님이 매일 읽고 들을 분량을 간략하게 정리해 줍니다. 그리고 성경 본문을 여러 성우들이 극화 해서 읽어줍니다. 화면에는 본문 말씀이 한국어와 영어로 뜹니다. 눈으로는 말씀을 읽고 귀로는 말씀을 듣습니다. 저는 처음에 마치 숙제 하듯이 했더니 별로 얻는 것이 없었습니다. 어떤 때는 차를 타고 가면서 듣기도 하였습니다. 집중하려고 노력했는데 갑자기 다른 생각이 침투해 들어는 경우가 있었습니다. 그러면 순식간에 말씀의 흐름을 놓치고 말았습니다. 이렇게 해서는 안되겠다 싶었습니다. 말씀 한절 한절에 온 마음을 기울여 들을 때 그것이 영혼의 양식이 된다는 것을 절감하게 되었습니다. 듣기 성경을 통하여 말씀의 뜻을 깨달을 적도 있습니다. 전에는 그냥 지나졌던 부분이 다시금 들으며 마음에 와 닿은 적이 있었습니다. 그래서 기도하는 마음으로, 차분한 마음으로, 기대하는 마음으로, 믿는 마음으로 들어야 한다는 것을 다시금 깨닫게 되었습니다. 여러분에게도 듣기 성경이 영혼의 매일 양식이 되면 좋겠습니다. 듣기 성경에 참여하여 여러분의 영혼이 믿음의 부요한 복을 누리시길 기원합니다. 

The Bible is God-sent love letter, food for the soul, the sword of the Spirit, and a way-illuminating light. Thus, the Bible is necessary for believers. But many believers are ignorant of the Bible. There are so many Bibles that are dusty somewhere in the houses. These days, believers download Bible apps and do not carry their own Bibles. It is hard to see a hand-stained Bible. We are living in an age of disregarding the Bible. But the Bible is still the word of God which we are to read, hear, meditate on, and practice. For the past two years, we have practiced Bible meditation. And after our Exodus meditation, we started audio Bible. In the ancient time, in fact, a man read the Bible and the rest of the congregation listened to it. Both the reciter and the hearers were to listen to the word of God. What matters is, whether to read or listen to the Bible, to listen to the word of God by heart. If one’s heart is not drifting away, one can’t hear anything. If the heart is not engaged, one simply moves his eyes without getting anything registered in the heart. We should treat the word of God as if we should treat God. If we want to succeed in our audio Bible, we must do our Bible listening as if we do unto God. So far, I have been doing my daily portion of audio Bible without skipping. I enjoy tasting the benefits of audio Bible. In the audio Bible, a certain pastor briefly summarizes a daily portion of Scripture which we are to read and hear. Then, several voice actors read it by dramatizing. The text is shown in the screen in Korean and English. We can read the text with our eyes and listen to it with our ears. At first, I did my audio Bible as if I were doing my homework; so, I got nothing out of it. Sometimes, I listened to it while driving. From time to time, strange thoughts abruptly made invasion into my heart despite all my attempts to concentrate on it. Then, I lost the flow of the word all of a sudden. I felt I shouldn’t do it this way. I have deeply felt that what I hear become God’s daily bread for my soul when I hear one verse after another with all my heart. I have learned a new insight through audio Bible. The parts I simply had passed by before touched my heart newly as I was doing my audio Bible. I have ever understood the meaning of a certain verse through my audio Bible. So, I have realized once again that I should listen to the word of God with a prayerful, quiet, expectant, and believing heart. I wish that our daily audio Bible becomes daily manna for your soul. It is my prayer that your soul will enjoy rich blessings of faith through our audio Bible.
