9월 교회 소식(September Church News)

9월이 어제 시작한 것 같은데 벌써 중순이 되었습니다. 낮 동안은 여전히 태양이 뜨겁지만 이젠 가을이구나 느낄 수 있습니다. 우리 학생들이 밥죤스 대학 돌아왔습니다. 그래서 여러 가지 변화가 있습니다. 1) 새로운 네 명의 학생, 진원, 은택, 진석, 은수가 은혜 교회를 출석하고 있습니다. 9월 16일에 신입생 환영회를 가졌습니다. 모두들 함께 부대 찌기와 사라다를 먹으며 식사 친교를 했습니다. 후에는 함께 찬양하며 예배하였습니다. 신입생 한 명 씩 자기 소개를 하고 기도 제목을 나누었습니다. 참 은혜로운 시간이었습니다. 예전처럼 오늘부터는 대학/청년들은 세 그룹으로 나누어 식사 시간에 말씀 나눔 친교를 가집니다. 세 그룹 리더, 건유, 고은, 지수입니다. 대학/청년부 전체 모임의 총무는 건유가 이번 학기를 맡기로 했습니다. 그리고 요석이는 학생들을 지도하는 간사로 섬기기로 했습니다. 2) 다음 주일 1시 50분에서 2시 30분까지 성경 공부를 시작합니다. 팬데믹으로 멈추었던 성경 공부를 다시 시작하는 것입니다. 누구든지 주일 성경 공부에 참여할 수 있습니다. 겨울 방학 전까지 지속할 계획입니다. 그동안 우리가 기도했던 Mr. Greg Looper는 알코올 중독 치료 기관에 입소했습니다. 65일간 재활 치료를 받고 나오게 될 것입니다. 그의 회복을 위해서 계속 기도해 주세요. 안타깝게도 김복림 권사님에게 경미한 뇌졸증이 찾아 왔습니다. 그런데 증상이 경미해서 말씀도 잘하시고 걸을 수 있습니다. 조속한 회복을 위하여 기도해 주세요. 3) 학생도 세 그룹으로 나누어 주일 친교 준비에 참여합니다. 오늘은 학생 한 그룹이 친교를 준비했습니다. 친교 후 설거지는 대부분 학생들이 담당하고 있습니다. 하지만 학생들이 친교를 준비할 때는 어른들이 설거지를 할 것입니다. 교회 청소는 자원자들이 할 것입니다. 4) 지난 주일에는 교회 뒤쪽에 있는 나무가 교회 지붕을 쳤습니다. 다행히 큰 피해는 없었습니다. 보험 회사에 청구를 했고 거의 10000불이 되는 공사비를 받았습니다. 공사비를 많이 절약할 수 있을 것 같습니다. 부족한 교회 재정을 충당해 주시는 주님의 선물이라 생각됩니다. 매주 교회에서 예배하며 친교 할 수 있는 은혜를 주신 주님께 감사드립니다. 은혜 교회가 전도하고 제자 삼는 교회로 성장하도록 계속 해서 기도해 주세요. 모든 분께 감사 인사 드립니다. 모든 영광을 주님께 돌립니다.  

I feel as if September started yesterday, but we are already in the middle of September. During the daytime, it is still hot. But we know we are going through the fall season.  Our students have come back to BJU. So, we have some changes. 1)  Four new students, Jin-Won, Eun-Taek, Jin-Seok, and Eun-Soo, currently attend our Grace Church. On September 16, we held a Newcomer Welcome Party. All of us had “Bu-Dae Stew and Salad” together, enjoying mutual fellowship. Afterwards, we have praise and worship time. New students introduced themselves and shared their prayer requests. We had a wonderful time of fellowship. As before, the three college and career groups will share their fellowship of God’s Word around the table. Their leaders are Gun-Yoo, Go-Eun, and Ji-Soo. Gun-Yoo will be serving as a director of our College and Career meeting for this semester. And Yo-Seok will be assisting the group as a general counselor. 2) From the next Lord’s Day, we will have a new Bible study from 1:50 to 2:30. We are resuming our Bible study, which we stopped for the pandemic. Anybody is welcomed to our Bible study, which will last until the winter break. Mr. Greg Looper, for whom we have been praying, finally entered an alcohol addiction recovery center. He will receive a 65-day rehab and will be discharged. Please, continue praying for his recovery. Unfortunately, Ms. Bok-Rim Kim had a mild stroke. But since her symptoms are mild, she still can speak and walk well. Please, pray for her speedy recovery. 3) Our students, divided into three groups, will participate in Sunday fellowship meal preparations. Today, the group of students have prepared for our fellowship meal. Mostly, our students have been washing dishes after fellowship. But when students prepare for fellowship meals, our adult groups will do dishwashing. And volunteers will do church cleaning. 4) Last Lord’s Day, a huge tree in the back of the church fell and hit the roof of the church. Fortunately, there was not much damage. We claimed our insurance coverage and received a check amounting close to 10 thousand dollars for repairs. It seems we can save a lot of money for repairs. I think it is the Lord’s gift to make up for our insufficient church income. I am so grateful that the Lord grants us grace to worship God and have fellowship with one another in the church. Please, continue praying for our Grace church to grow as a witnessing and disciple-making church. I am so thankful to everyone of you. And I turn all the glory to God.
