교우 소식(News about our Members and Friends)

가을이 우리 곁으로 성큼 다가왔습니다. 아침 저녁 서늘한 기온이 가을을 알리는 전령입니다. 올 여름은 미국 전역이 찜통이었습니다. 이제 긴 여름이 끝나고 새로운 계절이 시작되었습니다. 먼저 기쁜 소식이 있습니다. 우리 학생들이 밥죤스에 돌아왔습니다. 가을의 서늘함이 마음을 기쁘게 하듯 반가운 얼굴들을 보니 즐겁습니다. 예준이는 군복무를 마치고 복학하였습니다. 고은이도 돌아왔습니다. 건유는 군입대를 다음 학기로 미루고 돌아왔습니다. 찬양팀이 다음 주일부터 다시 시작합니다. 이미 금요 기도회는 시작했습니다. 10명의 학생이 첫 기도회에 참여하여 뜨겁게 기도하는 시간을 가졌습니다. 지난 주일에는 새로운 네 명의 학생이 우리 교회를 방문했습니다. 우리 학생들이 돌아오니 빈자리가 많이 채워졌습니다. 참 감사한 일입니다. 우리 학생들이 이번 학기를 잘 보낼 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 홍선자 집사님은 20년 이상을 일하시던 직장에서 은퇴하셨습니다. 은퇴 후 삶을 위하여 기도해 주세요. Mr. and Mrs. Orr의 따님 한나 자매님은 맬콤을 득남하셨습니다. 맬콤이 주님 안에서 키와 지혜가 자라도록 기도해 주세요. 유동희 박사님은 이미 피닉스로 이주하셔서 일을 하고 있습니다. 서수옥 사모님은 집 매매를 마치고 9월 4일에 피닉스로 가십니다. 새로운 곳에서 잘 정착하여 주님을 신실하게 섬기길 기도해 주세요. 정종엽 형제님은 CPA 시험을 마치고 결과를 기다리고 있습니다. 모두 통과하여 속히 취업할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 준호는 이번 학기에 고등학생이 되었습니다. 고등학교 생활에 잘 적응하며 공부할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 제프리 리 장로님은 선교 여행 중에 있습니다. 주님의 인도하심 아래 의도하신 일들을 이루시도록 기도해 주세요. 환절기를 맞아 여러분들이 감기나 코로나 바이러스에 걸렸습니다. 안타깝게도 김신자 집사님과 Mr. Driver는 코로나 바이러스에 감염되었습니다. 두 분이 하루 속히 회복되길 기도해 주세요. 곧 9월이 시작됩니다. 2022년도 4개월이 남습니다. 남은 기간 동안 우리 모든 교우들이 주님 안에서 강건하며 주님 주신 삶을 믿음으로 살도록 기도합시다. 

Fall has come around our corner. Coolness both in the morning and evening is a herald of the beginning of fall. The whole America was under sultry heat this summer. Now, a long summer has ended and a new season has begun. We have good news. Our students have come back to BJU. As coolness of the fall season refreshes us, so we are gladdened by seeing their joyful faces. Ye-Jun returned to school after having finished his service in the military. Go-Eun also has come back. Gun-Yoo came back, postponing his joining in the military to the next semester. Our Praise Team will resume its ministry next Lord’s Day. We already started our Friday night prayer meeting. Participating in the first prayer meeting, ten students had a fervent prayer time. Last Lord’s Day, four new students visited our church. Our vacant seats are filled with our returning students. We are grateful for it. Please, pray that our students will have a good semester. Ms. Sun-Ja Hong King retired from her work she had worked for more than twenty years. Please, pray that she would have a good life after her retirement. Hannah, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orr, gave birth to a son named Malcolm. Please, pray that Malcolm will grow in stature and wisdom in the Lord. Dr. Hong-Hee Ryu has already moved to Phoenix, AZ, and begun to work. His wife finished her home sale and will fly to Phoenix on Sept. 4.  Please, pray that they will settle down well in a new place and serve the Lord faithfully. Brother Jong-Hyup Chung has completed his CPA exams and is waiting for the results. Please, pray that he will pass all of them and find a job as soon as possible. Jun-Ho has moved up to high school. Please, pray that he will adjust to a high school life and study well. Elder Jeffrey Lee is taking mission trips. Please, pray that he will fulfill his intended purposes under the guidance of the Lord. Due to the seasonal change now, several of us have caught cold or been infected with the coronavirus. Unfortunately, Mr. and Mrs. Driver are infected with the Coronavirus. Please, pray that they will get well as soon as possible. It will be soon September. We have only four months left in 2022. Let’s pray that all of us will stay healthy in the Lord and live a God-given life by faith for the rest of the year.
