통 성경 세미나를 다녀와서(Having been to Tong Bible Seminar)

월요일부터 금요일까지 플로리다 잭슨빌 시온 침례 교회에서 열린 통 성경 세미나에 다녀왔습니다. 강사는 통 박사로 불리는 조병호 박사님 입니다. 아침9:50분부터 저녁 9시경까지 계속해서 강의가 이어졌습니다. 목회자와 사모님 모두 20여분이 참여하였습니다. 통 성경은 성경을 단편적으로 보지 말고 처음부터 끝까지 통으로 본다는 것을 뜻합니다. 성경의 큰 줄기가 되는 주제를 중심으로 성경 전체의 맥을 잡는 것입니다. 핵심 주제는 십자가, 하나님 나라, 하나님 마음, 성경 줄기, 기도, 전도, 성경 통독입니다. 창세기부터 계시록까지 52개의 이야기로 연결하여 이해합니다. 성경 이야기를  5살때부터 20살까지 가르쳐 자녀들이 성경적 세계관을 가지고 세상 속에서 하나님의 나라 시민으로 거룩하게 살아가게 하는 것입니다.  저는 이것을 우리 은혜 교회에서 어떻게 적용할지를 기도하고 있습니다. 중요한 것은 성경을 매일 읽고 순종하며 사는 것입니다. 이것이 신앙 교육의 시작과 끝입니다. 52개 통 성경의 이야기는 다음과 같습니다: 원역사, 족장사, 입애굽과 민족, 출애굽과 제국, 세계 선교의 꿈-제사장 나라, 거룩산 시민 교육 교과서, 만나세대, 만나학교 졸업, 약속의 땅 입성, 사사들이 다스리던 시대, 교육의 성공 사례, 미스바 세대, 왕정의 시작, 세번의 기름 부음-제사장 나라 충성도, 하나님의 종 다윗, 솔로몬과 시가서, 하늘 보석 욥, 남북 분열 왕조, 요나의 기적, 북 이스라엘 멸망, 메시아와 베들레헴의 목동, 남 유다 멸망, 70년의 징계, 역대기-재건 세대 선물, 포로민 설득-유대인의 시작, 제국 변동의 밑거름, 성전 재건-귀환과 투자, 에스더의 파티, 에스라의 권한, 성벽 재건, 고백과 침묵, 헬라 제국과 중간사-모세오경의 세계화, 헬라 제국과 중간사-마카비 혁명, 하스몬 왕조와 중간사-왕 겸 대제사장 통치, 로마 제국과 중간사-헤롯 왕조, 예수님의 탄생, 예수님의 한 영혼 사랑, 사랑 때문에 피곤하신 예수님, 사마리아 인과 세리의 친구 예수님, 마지막 일주일-1차 산헤드린 공회 재판과 빌라도 재판, 십자가 승리-하나님 나라, 열리는 제자 시대-2, 3, 4 차 산헤드린 공회 재판, 바울의 1차 전도 여행-예루살렘 공회, 바울의 2차 전도 여행, 바울의 3자 전도 여행, 바울의 예루살렘 여행-5차 산헤드린 공회 재판, 죄수 바울 로마 도착, 교회론과 기독론, 믿음의 아들에게 남긴 편지-로마 대화재 사건, 복음 2세대를 위한 편지, 요한의 사랑 선언 편지, 새 하늘과 새 땅 노래. 우리 모두가 매주 이야기 하나씩 배우며 성경 전체를 배우면 참 유익할 것입니다. 

My family and I have been to Jacksonville, FL, to attend Tong Bible Seminar, held in Korean Zion Baptist Church, from Monday through Friday. The speaker was Dr. Byeong-Ho Cho, often called as Dr. Tong. His lectures continued from 9:50 A.M. to around 9:00 P.M. The total attendees were about 20, pastors and their wives. Tong Bible implies reading through the entire Bible, not fragmentary Bible reading. It reads through the entire Bible with the major themes running through the Bible in mind. The key themes are the Cross, the Kingdom of God, the heart of God, Tong storylines, Prayer, Witnessing through Storytelling, and Tong Bible Reading. The Tong Bible stories from Genesis to Revelation are 52 in total, connected one after another. The purpose of Tong Bible reading is to teach these stories to children from age 5 to 20 so that they can live a life of holiness in this world as citizens of the kingdom of God according to the biblical worldview. I am praying for God’s wisdom to figure out how to apply it to our Grace Church. What matters is to read, obey, and live the Bible every day. This is the beginning and end of faith education.
