2022년 우리 은혜 교회(Our Grace Church of 2022)

2년 가까이 코로나 바이러스 팬데믹을 보내며 은혜 교회가 여전히 주님의 은혜 안에 서 있는 것을 보고 하나님께 감사를 드립니다. 사실 상당히 많은 교회가 팬데믹으로 인해 사라졌습니다. 그리고 여전히 많은 교회들이 많은 어려움을 겪고 있습니다. 그런데 어떤 교회들은 팬데믹으로 인해 더욱 강건하고 성숙해진 교회도 있습니다. 우리 은혜 교회도 팬데믹의 영향을 받았지만 은혜 가운데 굳게 서 있습니다. 우리는 믿음으로 모여 예배하였습니다. 함께 기도하며 중보하였습니다. 말씀 읽기와 묵상을 통해 하나님께 집중하려 노력하였습니다. 모든 것이 멈춘 것 같았지만 우리는 조금씩 움직이고 있었습니다. 돌아보면 모든 것이 주님의 은혜였습니다. 곧 2022년을 맞이합니다. “위드 코로나” 시대를 지나가야 합니다. 우리 은혜 교회는2022년도에도 믿음으로 어제나 오늘이나 영원토록 동일 하신 예수님을 바라볼 것입니다. 그리고 그리스도의 장성한 분량에까지 이르도록 자라나길 힘쓸 것입니다. 그런데 이것은 어떤 교우 개인이 영적으로 건강해지는 것으로 이루어 질 수 없습니다. 교우들 모두가 함께 자라갈 때 교회가 건강해지는 것입니다. 교회는 그리스도의 몸입니다. 몸이 건강 하려면 먼저 머리이신 예수님의 말씀을 잘 따라야 합니다. 그리고 몸의 지체가 각자의 역할을 충실히 이행해야 합니다. 손이 제 역할을 충실하게 이행하는데 발이 놀고 있다면 이것은 결코 건강한 몸은 아닙니다. 손과 발이 함께 일해야 주님 맡기신 사명을 감당할 수 있습니다. 교회는 한 사람의 열심으로 건강해 지는 것이 아닙니다. 교회는 모두가 제 역할을 할 때 성숙합니다. 교회는 함께 하는 공동체입니다. 공동체에 속하는 것은 공동체를 위하여 자기의 역할을 하는 것입니다. 서로 섬기는 공동체가 사랑으로 결속되어 있습니다. 하나님이 주신 은사를 활용하여 서로를 섬기는 교회는 진정한 자유를 누립니다. 말씀을 가르침으로 섬기고, 찬양으로 섬기고, 기도로 섬기고, 친교 음식으로 섬기고, 예배 안내로 섬기고, 아이들을 가르침으로 섬기고, 교회 건물을 관리함으로 섬기고, 구제함으로 섬기고, 위로함으로 섬기고, 복음을 전함으로 섬기고, 여러 다양한 모습으로 섬길 수 있습니다. 이것은 주님을 섬기는 것이며 서로를 섬기는 것입니다. 이것이 바로 하나님의 뜻을 이루는 것입니다. 하나님의 뜻을 행하는 것이 바로 참된 행복입니다. 2022년도에는 우리 모두가 자기의 역할을 하며 섬기는 교회가 되었으면 좋겠습니다. 교회 예배 출석만으로는 개인적으로나 교회적으로 성장할 수 없습니다. 우리가 소망하는 교회는 주님의 은혜로 성숙하는 교회입니다. 성숙은 섬김을 통해서 맺어지는 은혜의 열매입니다. 2022년도에는 우리 모두 이 열매를 맺어 하나님께 영광 돌리는 한 해를 보내시길 기원합니다. 

As we have spent almost two years of the Coronavirus pandemic, I am thankful to God for seeing that our Grace Church is still standing in the grace of the Lord. As a matter of face, a great number of churches have disappeared due to the pandemic. And many churches are still suffering much. However, some churches have grown stronger and more mature due to the pandemic. Though we have been influenced by the pandemic, our Grace Church is standing firm in grace. We have been worshiping God by faith. We have been praying and interceding for one another. We have focused on God by reading and meditating on the word of God. Though everything seemed to stop, we have been moving little by little. Looking back now, everything has been God’s grace. Soon, we will enter 2022. We have go through the era of “With Corona.” By faith, our Grace Church will behold Jesus who is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. And we will strive to attain to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. However, we can’t attain to it by a certain individual believer’s becoming spiritually healthy. When each of us grows together, the church becomes healthy. The church is the body of Christ. If it is to get healthy, the body first is to follow the word of Jesus its Head. And the members of the body should faithfully perform their functions. If hands are faithfully serving their roles but feet are playing hooky, then the body can’t be healthy. When hands and feet work together, the body can fulfill God-given missions. The church can’t be sound by one man’s enthusiasm. When all members of the church fulfill their functions, the church will grow mature. The church is a community of “Being together.” Belonging to the community means serving one’s role for the community. A community that mutually serves one another is bonded together by love. The church in which each member serves each other by using God-given gifts enjoy true freedom. We can serve by teaching the word, praising, praying, preparing for fellowship meals, ushering, teaching children, maintaining the church building, doing almsgiving, comforting, spreading the gospel, and so on. In this way, we serve God and serve one another. This is the way we fulfill God’s will. Performing God’s will brings us happiness. It is my prayer that we will be a church in which all of us perform our roles and serve one another in 2022. We can’t grow individually or corporately simply by attending church service alone. The church we dream of is a church that grows mature by the Lord’s grace. Maturity is a fruit of grace borne by service. May all of us bear such a fruit for the glory of God throughout 2022!
